Pinot Noir, famous for the reds of Burgundy, is equally at home in the Loire, where it makes delicate reds and wonderfully crisp, fragrant rosés. Few can boast a longer heritage in the region than Catherine Corbeau Mellot, wife of the late Alexandre Mellot and head of the Joseph Mellot estate. The family have been growing vines in Sancerre since 1513 , in fact, César Mellot was Wine Advisor to Louis XIV. Catherine's two sons, Adrien and Armand, are waiting in the wings to continue the family tradition. The grapes for the Réserve Prestige Pinot Noir are picked early, so they have great freshness.
