A beautifully elegant Merlot from a top Napa Valley estate that's rarely seen in the UK, Mount George Merlot offers a fine taste of this iconic region. Silverado Vineyards was founded by professional footballer Ron Miller and his wife Diane Disney Miller (daughter of Walt Disney) in the heart of the Stag's Leap District. They later expanded their estate to include vineyards in the Mount George area. The steep, gravelly slopes of this ancient volcano are particularly well suited to Merlot, producing deeply concentrated, complex and elegant wines. A small portion from Silverado's famous Stag's Leap Vineyard adds even greater depth. Matured in French oak barrels, this fine red will make a delicious partner to roast lamb or pan-fried duck.
