Domaine Michel Thomas Sancerre 2012

W ith a Trophy, seven Golds and over 90 points to its name, this domaine is clearly making some of Sancerre’s finest wines. It’s been nearly two decades since we introduced this wine to customers and it remains one of our most popular classics. The small, family run property is in the commune of Sury en Vaux, northwest of the town of Sancerre. Its sloping, chalk rich vineyards enjoy a perfect aspect to the sun, and meticulous vine management ensures that the Sauvignon grapes always display great intensity of flavour. In 2012 Sancerre missed much of the tricky weather that plagued the rest of the valley and produced intense, stony, gooseberry fresh wines. This dinner party white is ideal with seafood and classic with goat’s cheese, too.
