The top wine from Gavi'sfinest producer, this superb Italian white combines richness and intensity with lovely freshness and mineral complexity. Gavi is the most revered white of Piedmont, indeed of all Italy, and is made from Cortese, an indigenous variety recognisable by its delicate herb and apple aromas. As with many of Italy'sclassic wines, the best are from the heart of the region , in this case Gavi di Gavi. Villa Broglia'swines were served at the Vatican to mark the 25th anniversary of Pope John Paul II, as well as for state banquets at Italian embassies. The wine is made from a precious parcel of grapes planted in 1953 and 1955, which produce really intense, complex flavours. Enjoy with fish, ravioli with sage butter, or clams.
