Founded in 186, Pieropan is one of the finest producers of Soave, renowned for wines of superb elegance, intensity and character. Indeed Wine Advocate described La Rocca, their best single vineyard, as ¿one of the standout wines of northern Italy¿.
This superb, fourth generation estate not only makes some of the appellation¿s finest wines, the founder ¿ Leonildo Pieropan Snr ¿ invented Soave Recioto, a delicious, sweet wine using air-dried grapes, like Amarone. Within their 3 hectares of vines the family have three single vineyards, all Classico, the very best of which is La Rocca. Made purely from old vine Garganega from the beautiful, terraced La Rocca vineyard, this is a remarkable white. Wine Enthusiast described it as ¿one of Italy¿s most iconic whites¿, echoing praise from Wine Advocate. For extra textural richness and complexity rather than any oak flavour, the wine has been aged in old casks. Serve gently chilled with mild flavours like fish pie or creamy sauced white meats.
