Los Vascos Carmenère Grande Reserve 2012

Many of you will have heard of Château Lafite ' 'Bordeaux's most famous property' (Parker) ' but few know of its sister estate, which is quietly creating magnificent wines in Chile ' a 'viticultural garden of Eden' (Decanter). The wines of Los Vascos display all the precious purity and freshness that is a sure sign of Chile's best ' and this Grande Réserve is no exception. A masterful example of Chile's signature grape, Carmenère, this has been made with premium grapes from old vines which give extra concentration. Placed in the hands of Marco Puyo, they create an intense red of spiced black fruit complexity with a smooth finish courtesy of careful ageing in French oak. Decant before serving with roast red meats or vegetable lasagne.
