Burgundy is Chardonnay's spiritual home. Nowhere else in the world does it achieve such subtle nuances and complexities of flavour. This superbly crafted cuvée comes from vineyards in the Mâconnais' Pouilly Vinzelles. Creamy, minerally and rounded.
Maison Joseph Drouhin was established 130 years ago. In charge today are Joseph's four grandchildren, Fréderic, Véronique, Philippe and Laurent. Their portfolio extends from Chablis in the north to Givry in the Côte Chalonnaise. Organic and biodynamic viticulture minimises impact on the environment and helps nurture healthier vines. As a house style, the Drouhins put elegance and finesse above richness of flavour. Cuvée Véronique is a part oak aged Chardonnay from clay and limestone rich soils in the Pouilly Vinzelles, one of the best parts of the Mâconnais. Its intense, persistent flavours of peach and white flowers, with hazelnut complexity, mark it out as fine wine. Serve with classic French cuisine, especially chicken or veal dishes.
