At his third generation family estate in Chianti'spremium Rufina district, Paolo Masi crafts consistently superb, award winning wines. He has done so ever since he graduated top of his class and took over the family property in 1990. He makes a whole range of wines , from crisp whites to intense Super Tuscan reds, and, most importantly, Chianti. Poggerissi is a soft, cherry rich Sangiovese made just like Chianti but from grapes that have been declassified to comply with local production quotas. From 2013, described by Wine Spectator as ,a very good to excellent harvest,, this is a gorgeous, bright, cherry scented red with intense fruit and freshness. You,ll find this silky red is perfect with pizza, pasta, grilled red meats or chicken.
