We have worked with seventh generation, Trophy winning winemakers Jean-Marc and Eric Pardon for years. We love their care and attention to detail and it really shines through in the quality and richness of their classic Juliénas, Les Mouilles.
Juliénas is one of Beaujolais' top crus, renowned for richness, spice and floral hints. The Pardon brothers' Les Mouilles is a single plot of old vines just above the village, and their pride and joy. Schist and granite soils and a south facing aspect ensure grapes ripen to perfection with a lovely balance of bright fruit and firm structure. The Pardons prune their vines hard to keep yields to a flavour enhancing minimum and undertake a rigorous selection of bunches at harvest time. In 2014 the quality was first class with an Indian summer allowing grapes to reach optimum maturity. Enjoy the wine's enticing cherry spice character with coq au vin, gammon or soft creamy cheeses. There's no need to hurry with this wine ' it'll soften with age.
