Inca Tree Estate Reserve Malbec is a new addition to our impressive Argentine range. It comes from the Parker and Spectator praised Chakana winery. The smooth, oak aged 2014 is made by oenologist Gabriel Bloise from the fruit of 100 year old vines.
The Agrelo vineyard lies at 919 metres above sea level, where the scenery is spectacular ' rugged peaks, lit by crystal clear light, towering over shimmering, poplar tree lined vineyards. The Malbec vines here are 100 years old, which is pivotal to this wine's intensity and finesse. Extending for 21 hectares, Agrelo is an extraordinary gem and the envy of estates for miles around. No wonder this estate receives praise from Robert Parker, Wine Spectator and the like. Soils are the perfect combination of limestone, clay and gravel, ensuring intense, ripe flavours, with balancing freshness. Part ageing in French barriques for a year has lent a gentle oak wrap to the blackberry and violet notes. Enjoy with seared steaks or meaty pasta dishes.
