Hervé Fabre left his native Bordeaux in the early 1990s in search of new and exciting wine territory to invest in. He was heading for Chile, but was side-tracked by old Malbec vineyards in Argentina and never left. He now runs one of the leading estates in Mendoza and, for his efforts, has won a string of national and international Golds and Trophies as well as earning 90+ scores from critic Robert Parker. This sumptuous red is made from the hand picked fruit of 40 year old vines in Mendoza, a region with "the terroir to produce not just good but truly great Malbec" (Decanter). It was matured for 12 months in the finest French oak to produce a rich, robust yet wonderfully elegant style of Malbec. Best enjoyed with roast beef or lamb.
