Declared Italy's 'Winery of the Year' three times in a row, Farnese is one of the finest in Abruzzo. Winemaker Filippo Baccalaro's Montepulciano is velvety smooth, soft and plummy with few rivals in the value stakes. It's also the pasta specialist!
Farnese was founded by Camillo De Iuliius and named after a noble family who built some of Rome'sfinest palaces, and in the 16th century fell in love with the Abruzzi and made a renowned wine there. We,ve worked with the cellar for over 15 years and our close relationship gives us exclusivity to their highly sought after wines. Their popularity has been spurred by a long list of awards and glowing reviews from the likes of Robert Parker, Decanter, Wine Spectator, Gambero Rosso and the International Wine Challenge, which in 2004 awarded Farnese the Trophy for ,Best Italian Red,. Enjoy this wine'sripe, dark plum flavours and lovely, soft, quaffable style. Great with pasta dishes, roasted vegetables with couscous or home-made pizza.
