Maison Joseph Drouhin was established 130 years ago and has 73 hectares of vines dotted over 90 appellations, stretching from Chablis down to Givry in the Côte Chalonnaise. In charge today are Joseph’s four grandchildren, Fréderique, Véronique, Philippe and Laurent. The family philosophy of organic and biodynamic viticulture minimises impact on the environment and helps nurture healthier vines. Above all, the Drouhins put elegance and finesse above richness of flavour. Cuvée Véronique is a fine, part oak aged Chardonnay from clay and limestone rich soils. Its intense, persistent flavours of peach and white flowers, with hazelnut complexity, mark it out as fine wine. Serve with classic French cuisine, especially chicken or veal dishes.
