Terrific Mâcon Villages from two gifted winemaking friends who joined forces in 1986 and have since received great acclaim. A modern interpretation of white Burgundy, with richly textured ripe fruit shot through by a bright mineral freshness.
The Chardonnay grape at its most sublime ' this stylish Burgundy is the creation of childhood friends Christian Collovray and Jean-Luc Terrier, who planted vines and built a cellar in 1986. The vines lie on the border of the Mâcon Villages and Saint Véran appellations in clay and limestone soils. Nearby are two huge and well known outcrops of rock, Vergisson and Solutré, both classified 'Grands Sites Naturels de France'. The mineral rich soil is key as it lends the wine irresistible freshness and an underlying flinty aroma. Combine this with meticulous winemaking and you have a remarkable Burgundy with ripe, rounded citrus flavours, superb balance and complexity. A glorious dinner party white to enjoy with rich seafood or white meats.
