A family winery with 120 years of history, Finca Manzanos has an impressive modern cellar and mature vineyards to draw upon. Perfect conditions for producing silky smooth reds like this lush Crianza, from a ¿top notch vintage¿ (Jancis Robinson MW).
The Manzanos family have been in the grape growing business for five generations, and in 2002 constructed a modern winery of timeless elegance at the heart of the Rioja appellation. Situated at the point where the Ebro and Ega rivers meet, it affords a wonderful view over this outstandingly fertile location. Following the recent loss of their father, brothers Victor and David (just in their twenties) now run the estate. The grapes for Los Hermanos were selected from high altitude vineyards that produce really elegant fruit. After fermentation half the cuvée was matured in French oak for one year and a further two in bottle.A medium bodied red with bright cherry fruit and lovely freshness ' spot-on with chicken in a creamy mushroom sauce.
