Crafted from an elaborate blend of traditional grapes, the Rhône's white wines offer a complexity, weight and richness rarely found elsewhere. From a cellar based in Châteauneuf du Pape, Le Prince has wonderfully subtle fruit and aromatic finesse.
The southern Rhône is best known for its warming reds, but the region'swhites, which combine honeyed complexity with lovely freshness, are also well worth searching out. Le Prince de Courthézon is a superb example from a top cellar in Châteauneuf and was crafted by Thierry Ferlay, a young, dynamic and fiercely talented winemaker. He has worked all over this part of Frankrike , as well as at Australia'srenowned Rutherglen Estate , and already has a multitude of medals to his name. The trio of grapes in this white make it very versatile with food. Grenache Blanc and Clairette bring body to the wine, while Bourboulenc adds lovely floral aromatics. Delicious pairings include pan-seared salmon or creamy pork. It'salso delightful on its own.
