This rich red perfectly captures the ripeness, depth and sheer drinkability of the best Côtes du Rhônes of 2010 ¿ a superb vintage. From a family cellar, the wine is rich and full of southern warmth ¿ delicious now or in years to come.
The 2010 vintage in the southern Rhône was big on quality but (as is often the way) correspondingly low on yield. All the more reason to savour this rich, ripe red from what Wine Spectator critic James Molesworth dubbed 'the most compelling vintage in the Southern Rhône I have tasted since I began covering the region'. The wine is a special cuvée selected by Olivier Ravoire of Ravoire et Fils, a family cellar with a portfolio of top properties in both Provence and the Rhône. Combining two classic grapes of the region, Grenache and Syrah, it has wonderful depth of flavour and a delicious spicy complexity. Thanks to its ripe tannic structure (typical of the vintage) it's irresistible to drink now but will develop beautifully with age, too.
