Rioja's fine reds are widely known, but the wonderful freshness and fruit of the region's rosados is a better kept secret. Made purely from Garnacha grown 600 metres above sea level in La Rioja, this lush rosado is bursting with ripe summer fruit.
This classic Spanish rosado was in fact made by Scottish born winemaker Pamela Geddes. After graduating in microbiology, she spent 10 years crafting whisky before a long stint in Australia, where she was ultimately in charge of all sparkling wine production for Seppelt , so she knows all about keeping flavours fresh and fruity in warm climates. Pamela made this fragrant pink purely from Garnacha, an ideal grape for this style, producing lovely red fruit flavours with a peppery edge. The grapes are from a small family cellar, Bodegas Leza Garcia, who have been tending their vines in Urunuela, in the premium Rioja Alta, for three generations. Packed with red fruit flavours, it'sperfect alongside a spread of tapas dishes.
