The winemaking talent behind this very contemporary style of Rioja is the young and infectiously keen Javier Murúa. His father, Julián, owns Bodegas Muriel (a winery Julián'sown parents originally established in 1926) in the Rioja Alavesa, which is a regular recipient of awards. The red Barón de Barbón has been called ,arguably the greatest Rioja on sale in the UK, (Scotland on Sunday) and this stunning white is in the same class , no doubt why our customers order it more often than any other. Barón de Barbón Blanco is made using the indigenous Viura grape and fermented at a cool temperature in stainless steel to capture every last flicker of freshness. Delicious served chilled with tapas, barbecued chicken or a caramelised onion tart.
